Japanese care
Skin care is an important part of Japanese culture, cultivated for centuries. It is definitely different from the approach to skin care in Poland.
Japanese skin care is based on two key elements: providing the skin with a large amount of active ingredients that support its functions, and intensive moisturization.
Before you determine your skin type and start choosing products, it is worth familiarizing yourself with active ingredients first. You do not have to study detailed articles, although it would be beneficial. All you need to do is remember a few of the most important properties of individual active ingredients.
The most common active ingredients in Japanese cosmetics are:
Hyaluronic acid
It retains moisture in the skin and helps maintain it. There are two types: high-molecular, which creates a protective barrier on the skin's surface, and low-molecular, which penetrates deep into the epidermis, filling in gaps and moisturizing the skin from the inside.
Collagen
It helps restore skin firmness and increases its moisture level. Collagen, which is one of the main proteins in the skin, supports its elasticity and promotes regeneration, which contributes to a younger, healthier appearance.
Amino acids
Amino acids are the basic building blocks of proteins, which play a key role in skin regeneration and reconstruction. They help strengthen the natural protective barrier, supporting the maintenance of the right level of moisture and elasticity.
Ceramides
They support the process of epidermis reconstruction and create a protective barrier that protects the skin from the harmful effects of external factors, such as UV radiation, dust or dry air. Additionally, they improve the skin's moisture level.
Vitamin C
A natural antioxidant, it neutralizes free radicals, brightens discolorations and evens out skin tone, constricts blood vessels, and also has anti-acne properties.
Placenta
It participates in the synthesis of collagen and elastin in cells, increasing the level of collagen in the body. It acts as a natural antioxidant thanks to the content of numerous vitamins, supporting protection against oxidative stress.
Coenzyme Q10
It improves skin elasticity, protects the epidermis, neutralizes free radicals, oxygenates skin cells and reduces the visibility of wrinkles.
Elastin
It prevents wrinkles and significantly improves skin elasticity, thus inhibiting the appearance of new lines. It protects the skin from harmful external factors, such as UV radiation and chemicals contained in makeup.
Retinol
It is one of the forms of vitamin A that eliminates acne, reduces wrinkles and regulates collagen synthesis in cells, supporting skin regeneration and improving its structure.
What is your goal?
We often hear the phrase “good skin,” but what exactly does that mean to you? What issues does your skin need to address to achieve this effect? If you have acne-prone skin, you’re probably looking to get rid of acne and acne scars. If you struggle with dry, flaky areas, you’re probably aiming to improve your skin’s hydration. Having clear skincare goals is key, as it allows you to focus on choosing the right active ingredients for your needs.
What should your daily and evening routine look like?
