Detailed Description:
Elegant Japanese ceramic rectangular plate produced by Kozan Kiln (庫山窯), a well-known workshop associated with refined, artistic tableware from the Shōwa to early Heisei period. The plate features a delicate sakura (cherry blossom) motif painted in soft, understated tones over a subtly textured grey surface, evoking the quiet beauty of early spring.
The composition reflects traditional Japanese aesthetics that emphasize seasonality, balance, and negative space. The gentle shimmer of the surface and fine floral detailing give the piece a calm, sophisticated presence, making it suitable for both practical use and decorative display.
The reverse bears an impressed maker’s mark reading “庫人”, a kiln mark associated with Kozan-gama, confirming its origin as a studio-produced Japanese ceramic rather than mass-manufactured ware.
Ideal for serving wagashi, sushi, appetizers, or as a seasonal display plate in a Japanese-inspired interior.
