Biwa Tea - Kagoshima Medlar

Biwa, or medlar, has been used in Japan for centuries as a natural health aid. It supports the body in the fight against colds and diarrhea and has a cooling effect in summer. Medlar leaves are rich in vitamin A and contain twice as much carotene as tomatoes, and also provide letrile (vitamin B17).

This tea is organic and comes from a plantation in Kagoshima Prefecture, where the leaves are grown according to a special technique thanks to which they contain 3x more polyphenols than standard teas. The leaves are sun-dried and hand-washed to prevent a bitter taste.
