How to Prepare
- Place the dried hijiki in plenty of water and soak for approximately 10–15 minutes.
- Drain thoroughly.
- Once rehydrated, use in your preferred recipe.
For traditional hijiki no nimono, lightly stir-fry the rehydrated hijiki with ingredients such as carrot and fried tofu, then simmer with soybeans, dashi, and seasonings until the liquid is mostly absorbed.
